    This means, as an Airtel user, with the help of the Airtel Credit Loan Service, you can borrow data or even airtime and repay on your next recharge by just dialing the code we have mentioned in this article.

    Depending on your eligibility status, you can borrow up to 4.5Gb, which is equivalent to N2000, however, when paying back, you would have to pay a sum of N2,300, the 300 being their interest rate.

    To borrow data from Airtel, follow the steps below.

    • Dial *303# (previously *500#) on your mobile phone
    • Select number 3 which is borrowing data
    • Select the amount of data you want to borrow
    • You will get credited the data immediately as long as you have met the requirement to borrow.

    If you download the Airtel app from your respective AppStore, you can also borrow data directly from your app. This serves as an alternative to help you borrow data at the point you need it.

    How to Borrow Data from Airtel using the Borrow Credit Method

    This method is mostly valid and useful for people who want to buy a data night plan because the night plan bundle package is not available among the Airtel borrow data packages.

    Apart from the night plan data bundle, you can also use this method if you have a special data package you always buy, and all you need is airtime so you can purchase the data plan.

    Follow the steps below;

    • Simply dial *303#
    • Now, instead of 3, select 2 to Borrow Credit
    • Reply with any amount that could buy the data you want to purchase
    • Click OK. 
    • Now dial *141#
    • Then proceed to buy the data you want.

    How to check borrowed Airtel data balance

    To check Airtel data

    • Dial *14*3#. You will be shown your data balance

    Requirements to be Eligible to Borrow Data from Airtel

    Before your Airtel sim can be eligible to borrow both data and airtime, you have to meet the following requirements.

    • You must be an active subscriber for a minimum of two months
    • You must recharge your line with a minimum of N200 monthly
    • You must have a registered SIM linked with your NIN
    • You must not have an outstanding loan amount higher than your total qualifying amount

    Airtel charges about a 15% service fee for any data borrowed, this means that for every borrowed data worth N100, you get to pay an extra fee of N15, which will equate to N115.

    How to Repay Borrowed Data On Airtel

    You can only repay borrowed data on Airtel by recharging your SIM card. This is because once you recharge, it will automatically get deducted until you have finally paid the full/ complete money ( the equivalent of the data in naira).

    This process is automatic and the deduction is done immediately after you recharge your line, however, if for any reason you have recharged your line and it hasn’t been deducted, you can follow the steps below to manually replay your borrowed data.

    • Dial *303# 
    • Click on“4” (Repay Loan). 
    • The airtime will be deducted and your loan will be cleared

    How to Borrow Data From Airtel Without Paying Back

    This is an ethical thought, however, at the time of writing this article, they are no code or cheat you can use so as not to pay back your loan ( borrowed data ) from Airtel.

    However, if you do not really have a use for the SIM card and you don’t want to repay back, you can stop using and recharging the SIM, this way you have successfully borrowed it without paying it back.
